Databases & Websites:

What are databases?

A library database is an online resource (it is not a website) that we subscribe to/pay for. That contains articles and information from print sources such as magazines, newspapers, journals and reference books. An article database enables you to search through thousands (sometimes millions) of different magazines, journals and newspapers to find articles on a particular topic. Some of the articles you will find are Full Text.

Read our magazines from your mobile device:

  1. Download the Flipster app from your mobile device’s app store

  2. Select your school: “Worcester Technical High School”

  3. Enter our EBSCO user id and password

  4. These instructions only need to be done the first time. After that opening the app will bring you to the magazines

Magazines Now Available on Sora!

Finding Titles

  • Go to Sora

  • You should see the collection called "Always Available Magazines" as the second curation on the Sora Explore page. If you’re not seeing this, it means that you and/or someone has done some custom curations on your page. You can either revert your page back to the shared collection or create your own curation of the magazines.

  • Regardless of custom curation status, you can now click on the "Magazines" button toward the top left-hand side of the page to view all titles.

  • You can also use Sora Filters > Format > Magazines to view the titles.
